He morrowind The project that aims to restore the entire continent of the province in Bethesda’s third Elder Scrolls RPG has just uploaded a colossal update, as five more expansions, hundreds of quests, NPCs, and thousands of indoor and outdoor spaces are still coming to the mod. So if the wait for the Elder Scrolls 6 release date is too long, this Morrowind project will keep you busy for a long time.
The original Elder Scrolls Morrowind primarily takes place on an island off the coast of the actual province of Tamriel, Vvardenfell, and it’s the Tamriel Rebuilt team that wants to make the entire province of Morrowind truly playable, with new maps, interiors and exteriors, NPCs, and quests. In fact, we spoke to the team behind the Morrowind mod a few years back, if you want more details.
Last year, the Rebuilt Tamriel team released two expansions for their Morrowind project, and now we have an update outlining what to expect next. By my reckoning, there are a total of five upcoming expansions to improve The Elder Scrolls Morrowind mainland, with a host of smaller offshore islands also in development.
If you play the Rebuilt Tamriel mod now, you’re currently looking at around half of the continent of Morrowind, thousands of indoor and outdoor locations, NPCs, and several hundred quests, with these five upcoming expansions set to add even more to the game.
The next expansion lined up by the Rebuilt Tamriel team is Andaram, which will have over a hundred quests and add another landmass to Morrowind for you to explore. I don’t have the space to even scratch the surface of the huge amount of content planned and already added for Morrowind with this mod expansion, but it’s already like adding multiple games to the Bethesda classic.
I’m constantly floored by Skyrim mods, but this is truly next level stuff. The Rebuilt Tamriel team is even sticking to all of the official lore, expanding the world in ways that make sense, making this Morrowind project an absolute must.
Tamriel reconstructed the plans for Morrowind
The team also provided a really helpful TL;DR of what he’s cooking up right now, plus what you can already play back from his work on Morrowind, so you can get an idea of the scope next.
- Complete over a hundred new quests for the Andaram expansion.
- A major expansion and update to the exterior, interiors, and quests of Almas Thirr.
- Internal work on the Narsis expansion is nearing completion, and the first missions are now being worked on.
- Various exterior reclamations of the new Sundered Scar and all interiors of the remade city of Darvonis are now finished.
- The first exteriors of the Othreleth Woods expansions are complete and interior development has begun.
- The Rebuilt Tamriel version of the island of Firemoth is very close to completion, and some new islands have been created on the fringes of Morrowind.
You can check out the incredibly detailed July 2023 update from the Tamriel Rebuilt team, where you can download what the team has already done for Morrowind and try it out while you wait for its next expansion.
In the meantime, we’ve got all the best games like Skyrim for you, along with exactly what we think we’ll get with Elder Scrolls 6’s setup, considering we don’t know anything about it yet.
