It’s the end of Amazon Prime Day, and that means you need to take advantage of the deals before they’re gone. Just keep in mind that they are not all the same. For every Sony wireless headphone deal, there’s a too-good-to-be-true price on a comparable product from a brand you’ve never heard of. You might think that you are getting a good product, but you may not.

With video games, there are few things to pay attention to when looking for value. In general, here are three general rules.

1. Take a look Nintendo own titles because they rarely go on sale: That means you should definitely check out “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “Super Mario Odyssey,” “New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe,” and “Mario Golf: Super Rush Standard.” All of them are on sale for $29.99 and ship via a digital code.

not to be less, Square Enix it also has deals on titles like “Octopath Traveler II” and “Harvestella” on Nintendo Switch for $39.99. They are new games with “Octopath Traveler II” coming out this year. In general, older games have higher discounts on “God of War Ragnarok” ($49.99) released on November 9, 2022, compared to newer games like “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” ($54.99), which was released on April 28.

2. Peripherals like headphones, mice, and streaming gear are heavily discounted: Whether you’re looking for a new gaming headset or new gadgets to upgrade your battle station for an aspiring streamer, companies like HyperX and SteelSeries have discounts on their products.

hyperx has some of the most comfortable headphones around and their Cloud II Wireless is available for $109.99. While not as impressive as the Cloud Alpha Wireless, which boasts 300 hours of battery life, it gets the job done.

Meanwhile, its QuadCast 2 and QuadCast microphones are on sale for $119.99 and $89.99, respectively. They have a lot of lighting effects on them.

HyperX has its Alloy Origins 60 mechanical keyboard for $59.99. Unfortunately, the keyboards aren’t hot-swappable, but they do have plenty of RGB lighting and come in a compact 60% form factor.

steel series is known for the audio quality in its headsets and its Arctis Nova Pro wired headset with a GameDAC Gen 2 unit is 20% off at $198.99. Its Nova 7 wireless headphones are more affordable at $132.98. This cross-platform version works for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 5. Its Arctis 9 Dual Wireless headset that allows users to connect to a console or PC and their phones is heavily discounted by 45% to $109.49.

The peripheral maker is also one of the first to introduce a keyboard with optical switches that allow two types of actions per key. It is comparable to the analog buttons on the original PlayStation 2 DualShock controllers. A light press will deliver an action, such as walking, while a stronger press turns it into a sprint. Its Apex Pro TKL keyboard features the technology and is on sale for $131.99. It even has an OLED smart display. The wireless version is available for $173.99, while an even smaller version, which is 60%, is $175.99.

SteelSeries’ other products, like the Aerox 5 Wireless Mouse and Aerox 5 Wired Mouse, are $89.99 and $59.99 respectively. The company also has a speaker sale with Arena 7 speakers at $224.99 and Arena 3 speakers at $89.99.

3. If you already have everything, it never hurts to have more storage space. That means you should check out the deals on hard drives. If you own a PlayStation 5, you should look for solid-state drives that are optimized for the console. They are M.2 NVMe drivers with high read and write speeds. It takes a bit of effort to install these devices on your console, but increasing the number of digital games you can store is worth it.

I picked up a Corsair MP600 PRO 2TB for $114.99.

For the Xbox Series X side, you can pick up a Seagate 1TB Storage Expansion Card for $139.99. That’s a small discount.
