It’s been a busy few days for those watching the FTC v. Eagle-eyed Microsoft. In the myriad of documents that have emerged from the trial, we see some that have been poorly drafted and others that have simply outright disclosed information about upcoming projects or secret projects.
Recently, a document on Bohemia Interactive revealed the fact that the studio is actively working on DayZ 2, along with Arma Reforged and Arma 4. The important thing here is that while we knew that Arma 4 and Arma Reforged are on the way, DayZ 2 has Bohemia has yet to confirm that it is in development.
secrets revealed
In the one-page article looking at the past, present and future of Bohemia Interactive, several key details were revealed. There was a background breakdown of the study, which is universally available, but on the right hand side of the page, we saw information that ideally would have been kept secret.
For example, it was revealed that Ylands and Vigor, two of Bohemia’s most recent efforts, were described as “failing to find critical or commercial success”. There was a note referring to Bohemia games having “poor technical performance on console and games often buggy”, and that Tencent’s minority stake in Bohemia is “a risk”.
Further down the page, we learn that Bohemia is “working” on DayZ 2, which has never been confirmed until now. There is absolutely no further information on the project, but some ‘Community Development Indicators’ were shared that reveal just how popular DayZ, which launched back in 2018, continues to be.
In the last six months, it seems like 18,986,964 hours have been logged in DayZ via Game Pass on console.
What would you like to see in DayZ 2? Since Arma 4 has already been announced by Bohemia, it makes sense to assume that it will release before DayZ’s follow-up title.
